ugh ok I honestly don't even know what to say in this thread. First of all, congratulations to all of you for making the end, sincerely. It's been a whack season.
Abi - I just don't think you did anything that makes voting for you over the other two a reasonable choice. I don't think you got here on any strategic or social merit of your own, and you certainly didn't get here by being good in challenges. I think you're cute af and I enjoyed you in game a lot more than I did other people, but it was obvious to me that 90% of the time you were just saying the first thing that came to your head without thinking for a second about what it was (which is cool, I do it a lot too, but it was very out of place in discussions about the game with people you have only tentative relationships with). I fought to keep you over Joe not because I trusted you or wanted to make an honest ally out of you, but because I knew that you were floundering and I thought there was no way I'd lose to you at the end if it came to that (though now that I've borne witness to this jury, I'm not so sure anymore lmfao). Playing the swing vote is a VERY valid strategy when done well, but sadly I don't think there was anything deliberate or measured about any of your gameplay. I feel like you just bumbled your way here, being pulled in for votes here and there, all the while having no idea what you were doing. You had no loyalty to anyone and seemed to make choices on an absolute whim. I can't really respect that at all. In saying that, if your FTC answers are out of this world, you could still get my vote.
Pretty straightforward question for you, girl. Describe two strategic decisions that you made in this game to further yourself. Not decisions that you went along with or were dragged into, ones that you actively made in your best interest.
Liz - I flove you, you know this. I find it hilarious that one of my first confessionals was about how much of a brick wall you were because that's anything but true. I understand you didn't engage a lot socially with some people on this cast but you were easily one of the most enjoyable parts of this game for me and I feel like I've made a real friend out of it all, which makes the experience worth it despite everything in my eyes.
As far as actual gameplay goes, people praising Abi while simultaneously shit talking you is a fucking JOKE to me and I'm actually kind of grossed out by it. The key difference between yours and Abi's games was the THINKING involved. Like I said above, Abi seemed to do things without any deliberation whatsoever and was sort of a floating entity who was pulled whichever way the wind happened to be blowing. you might not have had extensive conversations with a lot of people, but when you did you were always genuine and didn't waffle. Abi was tied to pretty much no-one for the whole game and did things because people asked her to with no input of her own. You had a strong relationship with me and I'm sure with others that gave you just as much of a say in votes as the rest of the majority. Fuck the haters, you're smart as hell and a great person to boot. That's what matters. <3
Further to discussion about your relationships, I'd like you to give me a list of the three social connections/relationships you made in the game that you believe had the greatest influence in your getting to this point.
Aras - How do I even start this? You know, in Laura's boot round, I actually wrote a (admittedly drunk) confessional about how I knew that you would end up playing for yourself instead of for us in the end, because I knew you were much more of a "gamer" than I was. I guess by the time F5 2.0 came around I had forgotten about that and had become so secure in our relationship that it hurt a lotttt when you decided to do just that. As everyone knows, I tend to be a pretty emotional player, and for about half a day after it went down I was certain that I would never vote for you at the end because I was so bitter. I got over that. Apparently the rest of the jury didn't.
I don't know how you interacted with other people, to be honest, but if it was anything like the way you interacted with me then I don't know why all of these people dislike you so much. People fucking lie in Survivor all the time. Blindsides happen. I don't know why everyone is so personally offended by the fact that you lied to them out of necessity, to keep them in the dark about their impending blindside. I've seen SO MANY WORSE THINGS happen in ORGs, and I honestly think this is the most unjustifiably bitter jury I've ever been a part of. It's not like you made super close bonds with these people and then brutally slashed their throats for no apparent reason. The fact that people feel betrayed by you to me suggests that you had more of a social game than they're willing to admit - they obviously felt some kind of connection with you if they were upset or surprised when you voted them out. Your strategic game was undoubtedly the best of the three people sitting here, and you were a tough challenge competitor to boot. To me it's very obvious that you played the best game overall. This jury wants you to paint yourself as an awful villain, which is pretty objectionable to me. I was your best friend and you cut me for your game, so surely I have more of a reason to see you as a villain than everyone else - and yet I don't. In saying that, you desperately need to own your game and all of the social blunders you made (I'm sure there were at least a few), but I fear that still won't be enough. I guess you need to decide how far you'll go to try and win this game.
People can chat shit all they like about how I was a dictator in our partnership and you just followed everything I wanted, but if it were reasonable to do so, I would post our entire chat log to disprove just that. We talked through all of our options extensively together and we really were always on the same page. I never forced your hand and you never forced mine. We were just a really good match, and that was that. If you really were as whipped by me as people seem to think you were, you would've idoled me at F5 when I was pleading for you to do so. What kind of loyal puppy dog would turn that away? You made the best decision for your game. I respect that.
Questions for you that will hopefully appease some of the jurors: are there any lies you regret telling in the game? Are there any blindsides that, in hindsight, you wish you'd warned the target about? Why/why not? Why did you feel the need to lie about each of the blindsides you chose to lie about?
Also, a couple of questions for all three of you:
Write a synopsis of this season as if it were the actual show. Who were the main characters? Who was the villain? The hero? What were some of the central themes or storylines? What would each of your winner's edits look like?
Tell me about one or two of the moments you enjoyed the most in this game. We're all here to have fun in the end and I had a great time this season - it'd be nice to see what made the experience a good one for you guys.
Is there anyone on the jury you think deserves to be where you are more than you? Why/why not?
(did I rip these from my jury thread in another game? maybe. maybe not.)
Good luck x
